Across our country, individuals are facing unprecedented financial challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the last few weeks, we have counseled thousands of consumers and existing clients whose economic security has taken a direct hit as a result of changes in their financial circumstances. Most have shared with us their anxiety over the ability to provide for their families and make payments to their creditors. At a time when nothing seems certain, they have turned to a trusted non-profit provider for help and counsel.
To those consumers and our clients who have reached out, I want to say that CESI hears you, and the Credit Counseling industry hears you. As a proud member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) and Financial Counseling Association of America (FCAA), CESI has been working diligently with the creditor community to develop new and innovative programs to meet the immediate needs of consumers in the midst of this crisis.
I am pleased to share with you that we are now able to provide additional support through creditor forbearance to assist consumers facing additional financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
CESI is committed to being a steady resource during this period of uncertainty and to providing exceptional service and support to everyone we serve. The impact of COVID-19 on Americans’ finances will be significant and long-lasting. Please know that we are here to support and help guide you through options – now and in the future.
